The Go Between Bridge, which runs over the Brisbane River in innercity Brisbane, Queensland, Australia is finally open! The bridge connects Merivale and Cordelia Streets in West End to Hale Street and the Inner City Bypass at Milton. It is Brisbane's first inner-city traffic bridge in 40 years and is expected to carry around 12,000 vehicles per day. The Go Between Bridge is named after legendry Australian indie rock band The Go-Betweens, who formed in Brisbane in 1977 by singer-songwriters and guitarists, Robert Forster and Grant McLennan. A charity concert featuring Go-Betweens front man Robert Forster was held on 25th June, followed by a community open day on 4th July. Robert is now in the UK to do a special one-off show at the Jazz Café tomorrow in Camden and to attend Latitude Festival where he will be doing a Q&A on the literary stage to celebrate the release of his limited edition book ‘The 10 Rules of Rock n Roll’ that will be signed and published along with a newly recorded four track EP that includes previously unreleased material including an especially joyous cover of Vampire Weekends ‘Walcott’. Robert will also be doing a signing at Rough Trade East on Friday at 6pm. Simon Lynge @ The Troubadour Simon Lynge - The Future

Lo-Max are very excited about Simon Lynge's debut album ‘The Future’ which will be released in the UK on Monday 7th June. Simon stated that ‘This album was made as a labour of love and is the end of one journey and the beginning of another’. The Greenlander was exposed to music and storytelling by his multitalented father Karl, who played accordion and worked with Eskimo folklore in the Tukak Theatre Group in the small town of Qaqortoq. Inspired by the two albums in his town - Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel – Lynge taught himself to play guitar. He saved up money and bought a ticket to Los Angeles where he was spotted performing in a club by Matt Forger who engineered Michael Jackson's Thriller and Bad albums. He produced Simon's LP for free, getting in the best LA session players. Shortly after Lo-Max signed him to a worldwide deal. Lynge is rapidly building a loyal fan base and in July is headlining a 25,000 seat festival at the Tivoli Gardens in Denmark.
