What is The Meadowlands?
The Wrens LP, The Meadowlands is named after a half-developed odoriferous swamp that is situated only five miles west of New York City. It is a sanctuary for rare birds, missing bodies, eerie marshes, a sports stadium, smouldering garbage dumps, corporate buildings and possibly the final resting place of Jimmy Hoffa. In short, life and death in all its beauty and squalor tumbles over its banks. The Wrens live near The Meadowlands. It is the perfect metaphor for their seething album.
